Granite slices

0-16mm gravel, 100kg concrete, and plenty of Finnish granite 150x60x500. Those are the ingredients of the kerbstone project in the front yard. At least one third of time goes into measuring in the area, levelling the guarding string, and identifying a semi-decent rectangular.

20150613sThe kerbstones are placed onto the gravel and one of the sides is stabilised with concrete for good measure. I was fortunate enough that I had to cut granite kerbstones only twice in front of the stairs. Cutting the granite with a grinder isn’t exactly fun and throws up a huge cloud of dust.

The stones around the steps nicely lead into the kerbstones of the area in front of the terrace…

Well, more landscaping is necessary, but that can wait until next time…
