From ugly to pretty

April 5, 2015

Every modern log home has a decent amount of electrical appliances. But the electricity cabinet seldom belongs to the inspiring elements in a home. I placed the electricity cabinet under the stairs. Initially, I planned to build a closet under the stairs but that plan I dropped because the hallway would become too narrow maybe. As a result I was stuck with an ugly electricity cabinet and plenty of cables leading to it.

A simple box constructed from 48×48 beams covered with pre-painted panels hides the electricity cabinet completely.

The floor and corner lists make it look neat.

Adding a historic telephone and a little side table turns something ugly into something good-looking.
