DIY Vanity Unit – The Assembly

It’s time to pre-assemble the vanity unit in the garage.

First the Ikea Faktum cabinet…

Then we add the tabletop which has gotten lists on the sides now for an even finish.

P1010483sThen we attach the doors from Bauhaus for that rustic look…

Next we cut out the necessary hole for the sink to fit nicely on top of the tabletop…

Then I lacquered the table top with Tikkurila Ultra Super. That’s a semi-gloss boat lacquer. That stuff certainly protects the wood. If it works for boats then it certainly will work for a pine tabletop. This I had to do three times with intermediary sanding in between.

Finally, after attaching the faucet, the pre-assembly is ready and the vanity unit can be shipped to the villa for natural habitat.
